Situated on 4000 acres between the Intracoastal Waterway and Port Royal Sound, Hilton Head Plantation is one of the largest, most diverse residential communities on Hilton Head Island. Hilton Head Plantation is home to the Country Club of Hilton Head's semi-private 18 hole golf course designed by Rees Jones. Jones also designed Oyster Reef Golf Club and Bear Creek Golf Course in this plantation. The 4th Course in Hilton Head Plantation is Dolphin Head designed by Ron Kirby. In addition to golf, Skull Creek Marina, on the IntraCoastal Waterway offers easy access to the ocean and Port Royal Sound and the Dolphin Head Recreation Area has waterway walks, picnic areas, and play areas for children. The community Spring Lake Recreation Center has a clubhouse for community meetings and social events. Other amenities include community gardens, community pool and tennis courts, two nature conservancies, extensive leisure paths and the popular Old Fort Pub restaurant which is open to the public.
